I spent a significant part of my career working with those athletes – managing their bodies through the demands of elite training schedules, recovery from injury, and the physiological peaks required for international competition. And what I can tell you with certainty from that experience is this: the people at the absolute limit of physical performance know something about recovery that most recreational athletes don’t apply to themselves.
They treat recovery as seriously as training. Full stop.
Oxygen therapy was part of that recovery arsenal long before it became a wellness trend. The mechanisms haven’t changed. How soon before a competition should I stop having sessions?
For most athletes, continuing sessions through the competition phase is fine and beneficial. If you’re doing an initial course protocol, completing it at least a week before a major event allows the body to fully consolidate the effects.
What about for younger athletes – is it safe for teenagers?
